This film first established the Hui Brothers' comedies internationally. It won high critical praise and went straight to the top of the box office charts in Japan. The story concerns a small detective agency and the problems it has staying in business and out of trouble; but essentially it is a social comedy and a very penetrating comment on the human condition.
